The KMBA boys basketball team finished 2nd place in the Prairie Christian Invitational tournament, this past Thursday and Friday in Prairie Du Chien. The twelve team tournament included teams from Nebraska, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The Warriors lost their opening round game but clawed their way back through the double elimination bracket winning their next five games. In the quarter-final Timmy Vander Pluym scored five points in the last twenty seconds to propel the team to a one point victory in overtime. In the semi-final Jason Curtis hit a jumper with seven seconds to go in double overtime to take a one point lead and secure the win. The Warriors came up short in a ten point loss in the championship game.

Daniel Fuller led all scorers with an average of 14.3 points over the seven games. Timmy followed with 11.4 and Jason was close behind with 9.6. Daniel and Timmy were voted to the 8 man all-tournament team by the opposing teams’ coaches.
The KMBA girls participated in an eight team volleyball tournament and came up on the losing end of all three of their matches. The girls were a great support to the boys team.
